My inability to get anything done
Including blog posts.
There are two pieces of a four piece entertainment center littering our living room. One piece is assembled, the other is still in the box. We were only able to purchase half of it because the shelves won't be back in stock at Ikea until January. The old entertainment center is still sitting in the corner, taking up space. The new one will be flush against the wall and go up rather than out. It will give us our corner back!
There's a sewing project that needs to get done. The new crib (also from Ikea) needs a crib skirt to match the one I sewed for the other crib.
There are four packages and a handful of letters sitting on the counter that need to be mailed. They've been sitting there since before we left for Christmas at the coast. I'm sorry if you haven't received your package yet. It's addressed and everything. Except for yours, K, because I have this really fun looking recipe I want to try and I had a plan to send you some of the goods. The ingredients are also sitting on my counter. The Christmas card and thank you card (together), along with my apology saying I'm sure I won't be able to mail anything before the holiday, are included in the stack of mail that needs to go out. Because apparently, along with being unable to drive to the post office, I am unable to walk down the driveway and put an envelope in the mailbox for the postlady to pick up.
Did I mention that I have two babies? They are my excuse for everything. Not a bogus excuse though! Ask anyone who has spent a significant amount of time in my home in the past couple of months (and that's many of you). It is very difficult to do even the simplest of tasks: laundry, cleaning (oh gosh, please close your eyes when entering my bathroom), etc., when two babies and a toddler all want attention, all of the time. Very rarely do their sleep patterns coincide.
E is fussing as I type this, but her daddy is going to get her. Moo is dancing around his legs trying to understand family relationships. "E is my sister! E is your sister?"
I didn't even touch on the things that are on Pete's to-do list, though I will mention that a certain greyhound is quite unhappy about the amount of poop piling up in our yard, and there are rose bush branches piled in front of our house that have been there since October. I want his help with the babies more than I want a clean yard.
We'll try to get a few things done this week, but I'm not sure how successful we'll be because the babies both have colds. M also got his belated two month vaccinations yesterday. Before I knew how bad their colds would turn out to be (we had a miserable night). I'm not sure when I'll find the time to shower, let alone leave the house.
I wouldn't trade it for anything though.
