What's Annoying Me This Week
One of my pet peeves, especially since I had kids, has to be rude and/or thoughtless neighbors. I have a few of them. We have new neighbors (renters) with dogs who stay outside all day and bark at the slightest provocation. The UPS driver can't deliver a package anywhere on our street without the dogs barking like he's breaking into their house. I can't venture into my backyard while the dogs are out without them thinking I'm about to climb over the fence and burgle their house. I haven't talked to the new neighbors about it yet because we honestly haven't been spending that much time out in the backyard this winter. If it's still a problem in the Spring, then I'll address it with them. It's particularly annoying because we had a problem with crazy dogs at that house several years ago, with the boxers who not only barked all night, but broke through the fence multiple times.
My other annoyance is people blocking the sidewalk. We enjoy taking family walks in the afternoon. I bundle up the kids, load the babies into the stroller, and we take a walk downtown or around a few blocks. There is one nearby street that Moo always wants to go on, but I hate it. People leave their trash cans on the sidewalk (you're supposed to put them in the street), there's a portable basketball hoop in front of someone's house, taking up the entire sidewalk, and there's a psychotic little chihuahua frequently tethered in front of one house on a line that is just long enough to allow the little monster to cross onto the sidewalk. The last time it was out, Moo just about had a panic attack when it lunged at him, even though I was between them, and I was *this* close to seeing how far the little dog could fly if I kicked it. It's difficult taking a walk with a double stroller and a preschooler when I have to cross into the street several times and deal with uncontrolled animals. Yesterday one of the houses had a truck parked in their driveway completely blocking the sidewalk. They'd left their lights on. I almost turned around and knocked on their door to let them know... but then I thought, "Karma's a bitch!" and walked on. It might have been petty of me, but I felt a little bit better. :-P
Ok, rant over. Next post will feature cute photos of my kids.
